| Resumo: | In many countries, the relationship between schools and local communities is evolving in step with territorial changes (urbanisation and metropolisation, widening social and geographical inequalities, migration, geopolitical conflicts), as well as new educational demands, competition between schools and the privatisation of whole sectors of the education system. Firstly, these processes raise questions around the current nature of links between schools and their local areas (connection, disconnection, reconnection). Secondly, they prompt inquiry into the place of the local level in the creation of territorialised partnerships and education alliances, which are necessary in order to face these changes. Finally, they show how local resources can be mobilised unevenly and unequally, leading to the emergence of ‘learning territories’. The dossier presents ten case studies from a variety of contexts across six continents. |
