| Résumé: | Disconcerted as much by the words used as by the treatments resorted to by her Mahorais patients, the author looked for representations of illness in the island where she practices. To do this, she had an extra tool at her disposal, over and above her medical training, and that was anthropology. Using an ethnography of a common nosographic entity, muamusi, the author explains how she used her new knowledge during her consultations in order to improve patient care and treatment. She then considers what kind of negotiation would be necessary to implement a "cotreatment". |
