| Yhteenveto: | This article examines the evolving role of English Studies in the European Union (EU) following the United Kingdom’s departure from the EU. Focusing on the Erasmus+ programme, it examines how students of English Studies in Europe utilise the exchange programme, and how the rise of English-taught university modules across Europe presents new academic and cultural contexts for these exchanges. This article considers how English as a lingua franca in European higher education has facilitated new forms of international exchange and collaboration, and argues that, post-Brexit, English-Studies programmes and Erasmus exchanges can create new opportunities within the sphere of Euro-English. In this way, English-taught modules serve as both a gateway to broader international opportunities and as a catalyst for rethinking the possibilities for English Studies as a discipline in Europe. |
