| Yhteenveto: | This exploratory research aimed to analyze the activity of two middle school students engaged in a table tennis match utilizing the “Cartaping” game (Monnet, 2009). Specifically, the objective was to test the hypotheses proposed by the author, which suggest that Cartaping has a positive impact on students’ emotions, tactical and strategic dimensions of their activity, and their acquisition of more general skills. Drawing on the “course of action” research framework (Theureau, 2006), we filmed the students during the match and conducted self-confrontation interviews with them afterward. The results indicated that at the match level, Monnet’s (2009) hypotheses were validated in nearly 75% of cases, partially validated in a quarter of cases, and invalidated only once. Cartaping primarily had positive effects on students’ tactical and strategic skills, while its effects on emotions were more ambivalent. Recommendations are made to optimize the potential of Cartaping in physical education teaching. |
