| Gaia: | The development of gender equality standards at the European level has produced a model that exposes systemic discrimination in the workplace. This recognition of structural differences in treatment provides an operational framework for addressing discrimination on other grounds. It can lead to a more constructive approach to eliminating common barriers to inclusion faced by different groups in comparable situations, arising from issues inherent to the relationships at the root of discrimination. However, European law continues to oscillate between a broader promotion of non-discrimination tools and a more segmented framework of non-discrimination rules based on prohibited grounds. |
