| 總結: | In the paper the contemporary problem of whether one can still speak of intermediality in the case of digital technologies, and if so, in what sense, is discussed. The central example is the digital generation of photorealistic images and how they are, in the case of generation with artificial intelligence, connected to the relation of text and image. Firstly, the concept of transmedial intermediality is introduced. It will then be shown that in digital media, a new type of form, the transmaterial form, emerges alongside transmedial forms. This is a specific and novel form of intermediality, problematizing the difference between media materiality and transmedial forms, under digital conditions, particularly evident in the case of photorealistic computer graphics. However, this often follows the established model-driven paradigm of simulation. Generative AI follows a different, data-driven paradigm. But here, too, one can speak of transmaterial forms, as will be shown in a short analysis of Boris Eldagsen’s famous promptography The Electrician (2023). The generation of transmaterial forms in generative AI is controlled by textual prompts, which often yield unexpected results in contrast to simulation.generative artificial intelligence, intermediality, photography, photorealism, simulation |
