| Summary: | The "implication statistical analysis" is an asymmetric method useful to study data structures, particularly those concerning education. It is used on simple mathematics exercises done by some students of the Faculty of Statistical Sciences in the University of Rome "La Sapienza". It shows the structure of binary variables, their connections to each other and the importance of structure variables to clarify students' difficulties. A comparison with multiple correspondence analysis shows that only the "implication statistical analysis" leads to trees and hierarchic structures useful in cognitive and behavioural studies. |
