| Sammanfattning: | This article explores disability-related vertical and horizontal segmentations in educational and vocational guidance in France. By combining a secondary analysis of the French Labour Force Survey and a series of biographical interviews, the study reveals several patterns, in varying proportions depending on the characteristics of the limitations and impairments: early school dropouts, a concentration in technical and professional courses, and fine segmentations within specific career paths. In educational trajectories, disability interacts with other social determinants to shape vocational guidance through the effects of institutional labelling, indirect disadvantages in evaluations by educational teams, and self-selective practices influenced by families and peers. |
