Indeed, boredom appears difficult to define and measure. Drawing distinctions between emotion and sensation, between reactions of frustration and coping mechanisms, also proves challenging. Although few French-speaking studies in management sciences refer to this subject, this literature review reveals a wide range of research showing that boredom appears to be both a cause and a consequence of poor working conditions or a lack of meaning. A research agenda on the theoretical issues of this theme is proposed, highlighting profitable managerial perspectives for employees and organizations. |
