| Zusammenfassung: | Through the analysis of focus group interviews (a form of semi-structured group interviews), we examine the socialising contribution of family gaming practices as perceived by the interviewees. Furthermore, we explore the ways in which members' categorisations (expert/novice; assist/assisted, etc.) emerge from and depend on their gaming practices. This paper presents a methodological reflection on the focus group interview as a tool for investigating perceptions of this recreational practice, on its elicitation potential for discussion of the knowledge that gaming offers, and on the process of categorisation that results from it. |
