| Sammanfattning: | With the development of technology, signs, other than language, such as images, music, and color, are becoming increasingly important in the construction of meaning and in interpersonal communication. Multimodal discourse analysis has emerged to offer a new perspective on the richness of sign systems. This paper aims to find the origin of multimodality in discourse to show that human communication is multimodal from the very beginning. And based on a variety of research in different fields, this study describes the current panorama on multimodal discourse analysis, as well as its profound influence in social practices. |
