| الملخص: | This article analyzes the way in which a nursery school principal, interviewed in a non-directive research setting, tinkers with her professional practice in the face of tension between her pedagogical ideals and institutional neoliberal managerial orders. In the first part of this paper, I describe the context in which I conducted this interview, which was part of a research project that is an extension of my doctoral work; I give a few points of reference concerning the principles of neoliberalism and its mode of public management, as elements of the political and organizational environment that seem to me to be essential for understanding the experience of professionals in the caring professions; and finally, I report on the sociohistorical context of this specific function of nursery school principal, drawing on existing works. The second part deals with the analysis of the interview and shows that, in a context where the institution shirks its responsibility for the primary task of the school, this principal, who says she gives priority to the needs of the pupils, chooses to remain in the group of teachers and negotiates with her colleagues, her hierarchy, and with herself to resist in her pedagogical function. |
