Zusammenfassung:As part of what has come to be known as the “ontological turn” in social and cultural anthropology, cosmopolitics has for several years been contributing to a renewed approach to the political. In order to assess the relevance of Pierre Clastres’s work and its posterity, it seems important to confront it with what this notion is intended to deal with in the field of social sciences. To this end, this contribution proposes to give a working definition and to discuss it in the light of the criticisms of Clastres’ writings, and of what, in these writings, was intended to “revolutionize” political anthropology. We begin by addressing not only the politics, but also the poetics of the paradigm Clastres wants to develop. Finally, we ask to what extent it might be possible to imagine a “Clastrian cosmopolitics”.
