Descripció
Sumari:The objective of this article is to evaluate the effect of corruption within governance on access to drinking water in a sample of 30 sub-Saharan African countries over the period from 2000 to 2024. The data comes from the databases of the International Country Risk Guide and the World Bank's Global Development Indicators. These results, achieved thru the system generalized method of moments, show that corruption exacerbates the difficulties in accessing drinking water. Bribes compromise the completion of drinking water infrastructure projects. The results suggest the implementation of targeted efforts to control corruption in public services, given its strong negative impact on access to drinking water.
