Zusammenfassung:Governments change, but their economic policies don’t change, except for a few shades. That’s the result of the success the neoliberal counter-offensive had started in the English-speaker world towards the end of the Seventies, which, in continental Europe, was boosted by what happened in 1989. All of this is particularly evident in Italy. The idea of the «naturalness» of capitalism and its laws, of the competition, the market, took over again. The end of politics, as we meant it throughout the «Great Twentieth Century». The market, the search for profits, defines the conditions for the welfare of everyone. The European Union is built on the dogmas assessed by monetarism and primacy in the market as well, with a single currency that forces the governments to do deflationary policies. A matter of hegemony, conquered by the capital after numerous years of inverted class struggle. The state, in this new scenario, doesn’t vanish, serving the existing social order. In this way, terms like «reform» get inverted in their meaning. «Reform» is all of what helps free the economy from public control, from the bonds the politics could impose on the private enterprise. Even the PNRR has been conceived with these purposes. Not a simple program of public spending, but a «plan of reforms» to make markets more competitive and the labor market more «flexible», to private essential public services. Struggling with this state of things includes the resumption of the struggle also concerned with ideas, theories, and thoughts. To the fake «naturalness» of the dominant economic relations we need to oppose new «economic policy critics».
