| الملخص: | The Russian invasion of Ukraine has been interpreted as an ethical war that pits open society and autocracy against each other in a competitive global scenario. After the downsizing of Russia’s ambitions, the containment of the economic and political rise of the Chinese autocracy will have to be managed effectively. As the hostilities take on ethical and metaphysical connotations, any political initiative by the most influential world actors fades to encourage negotiation between the players. Even Europe too renounces any attempt at mediation which is indispensable to restore, after the legitimate defensive war, to regional and international organizations are to return to their pacifying role. The silence of politics is unavoidable when ethics become the motive for war and the empirical causes of the conflict are canceled (geopolitical strategies, border disputes, ambitions for power, ethnic rivalries, resentments of fallen empires). In a long-lasting conflict between democracies and totalitarianisms, the legitimate defense war turns into a total clash (economic, military, cultural) that pursues the ultimate goal of final victory with the change of the autocratic political regime of Russia. While in the West the long war for freedom is exalted, in the southern states and in the emerging powers, which represent the majority of the world population, the request is being made for a new governance of international relations. In a «post-American» world, there is a growing need to involve the countries that organize the multiple visions of modernity that emerged after the decline of the Washington Consensus in the shared government of the world. |
