| Tóm tắt: | In 2008 a collaborative project established between the Antikensammlung, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, and the J. Paul Getty Museum with analytical support from the Getty Conservation Institute, was launched for the study and treatment of a group of South Italian vases from the Antikensammlung. This paper will present the general scope of the project, focusing primarily on the study of one vase from this group, (loutrophoros F3264), which has revealed an interesting and complex history. A combination of archival documentation, visual examination and scientific analyses suggests that the restoration may be the work of Raffaele Gargiulo, and raises issues regarding the ultimate treatment and presentation of the vase. |
