| الملخص: | The Manifeste du surréalisme, too often presented as a dogma from another era, deserves to be placed in its own time, so that it can speak more directly to our own. This essay looks at the Manifeste in the light of a few facts of history that help us to understand the urgency with which the press in the early 1920s in the space of a few weeks transformed a draft introduction to a collection of automatic prose into this Manifeste, the very title of which, found at the last minute, was a model of political communication. This text, which endeavours to think through the necessary ruptures simultaneously in the fields of philosophy, ethics, poetry, the theory of the image, inspiration and artistic production, also initiates the historiographical and autobiocritical approach that distinguishes Surrealism from previous avant-gardes. Performative, it outlines the perimeter of the group, from the core to its centrifugal allies, precursors and prophets, and launches several salvos of examples, collective creative protocols, surrealist images and poetic collages – revealing not only a collective experimental programme but also the arborescence of the paths explored by all the work to come. |
