| Özet: | In the 17th century, short forms are used in two parallel fields, which appear to be different and have separate specialisations: the moral analysis, such as in La Rochefoucauld or La Bruyère; and the grammatical analysis, as in Vaugelas or Bouhours. Few scholars have compared these two categories of authors, the moralists and the remarqueurs. This paper aims to outline the existing correlations in two ways. On one hand, there are some «internal» convergences in the authors’ discourses: the topics, the arguments they put forward, the words they utilise. On the other hand, the «external» convergences, often surprisingly precise, are not uncommon in comments by the specialists, to the point that the critical arguments give the impression of being duplicated. |
