L’interaction entre locus verbal et adnominal dans l’expression du déplacement
This study deals with the asymmetrical expression of Source (starting point) and Goal (end point) in spontaneous motion events in French (verb–framed language), English and Polish (satellite-framed languages) (Talmy, 2000). The Source–Goal asymmetry hypothesis (cf. Ikegami, 1987; Dirven & Verspo...

| Итог: | This study deals with the asymmetrical expression of Source (starting point) and Goal (end point) in spontaneous motion events in French (verb–framed language), English and Polish (satellite-framed languages) (Talmy, 2000). The Source–Goal asymmetry hypothesis (cf. Ikegami, 1987; Dirven & Verspoor, 1998) relies mainly on the study of the adnominal locus; less attention has been paid to the expression of Source and Goal in the verbal locus. Following a ‘distributed’ approach to spatial semantics (Sinha & Kuteva, 1995), this study investigates motion events by systematically analyzing the semantic features encoded in the verbal locus with respect to the adnominal locus. The study is based on the data extracted from a corpus of parallel texts. The aim is to show that the study of the Source-Goal asymmetry should consider both distributed spatial semantics and typological characteristics of languages. |
