| Crynodeb: | Based on Ousmane Sidibé’s original vision of the issue of labour and social protection in African societies, this paper examines the relevance and effectiveness of modern labour legislation in Africa in the face of the reality of the informal economy, with a view to achieving decent work for all. The paper calls for a “different view” of the informal economy and its actors in Africa, which should lead to changes in public policies and practices aimed at promoting decent work, so that they are better adapted to the systemic and complex nature of the reality that needs to be transformed. |
