Résumé:The contribution provides an overview of the composite legal framework for the social economy in Italy. Although the Italian legislation has not so far introduced a common discipline of the social economy - focusing only on the non-profit Third Sector - the Author outlines the different regulations and provisions that place Italian legal system at the forefront in the promotion of the social economy and, specifically, of its « labour dimension », also outlining the need to further insist on the recognition of the quality of jobs as a foundational feature of the social economy.
