| Izvleček: | The consequences of socio-natural disasters impose great challenges to social security systems in the world. This paper analyses and underlines the legitimate interest in responding to the consequences of natural disasters, a fact that is clearly visible in certain legal standards of the Mexican Social Security Law, which in case of natural disasters provides benefits such as health care and others to all the population and not only to ISSSTE (State’s Employees’ Social Security and Social Services Institute) beneficiaries. However, there is a great need to adapt the Law and thus extend coverage to the most vulnerable in extreme natural events. |
