| Summary: | The question that many people raise today is: how was it possible that certain class of managers, who governed Naples and the region of Campania for the past 20 years, with strong favorable conditions for initiating processes of social and economic growth, have instead ended up their political administrative experience with a sharp failure. In a word, how is it possible for a player to lose the game by still having favorable cards in hand? The article tries to furnish a reply to this question by analyzing, from one side the governing styles of the Campania managers from 1993 to date, and, from the other side, the organizational and cultural aspects of the southern region that may have assisted in the negative growth. |
