Samenvatting:The long essay La sociologia di Max Weber, divided into two parts («Quaderni di Sociologia» n. 12 and n. 13, 1954) reconstructs Weber’s theoretical-methodological path of reflection by deepening the meaning of his theses, often too trivialized in the vulgate, on the value-free nature of research, the conditional explanation through ideal types that give meaning to connections, the mutual relationship between economy and culture mediated by economic ethics, its derivation from the comparison of religions and from the explanation offered of the individuality of Western capitalism, the transition thus made in the succession of Weber’s studies from historiography to sociology.
