Yhteenveto:An Early Neolithic burial (post LBK or VSG culture, 4900-4600 BC) has been discovered in the Neolithic site of Buthiers-Boulancourt (Seine-et-Marne, France). Its funerary deposit consists of few flint lithic tools (4 scrapers, 1 burin, and 6 flakes) and a turtle shell. These kinds of objects are rather rare in tombs of this period, in which ceramic, schist bracelets and shell ornaments predominate. After a presentation of the site, the burial and its sepulchral objects, a typo-functional and traceological analysis of the lithic assemblage and a comparison with the material collected in the dwelling structures (dumping pits, structures linked with combustion) of the site, are proposed. If the lithic assemblage linked with the skeleton is characteristic of this phase of the Neolithic (scrapers are preponderant), it differs from the flint tools found in the dumping pits in morphology, dimensions and the fact that the grave’s objects have not or little been used.
