| Streszczenie: | The aim of this paper is first to examine the networks of signifiers that structure the text around the problematics of liquids and flows, thus emphasizing its highly poetic mode of functioning. In this perspective the "slip-up" of the title appears as a form of parapraxis illustrating the fact that the forgotten, or repressed, desire of Michael, which cannot be acknowledged through the symbolic code of language, ultimately finds an outlet through a sort of language of the body that puts him in an awkward situation generating an apparently unjustified feeling of shame. In a second stage, it will try to account for the reflexive dimension of the short story, no longer merely considered as the story of a "slip-up", but it will argue that the text itself is a "slip up" dramatizing and betraying a fear of the blank page. |
