| Streszczenie: | A poet, essayist, and art critic, Pere Gimferrer is both the author of a literary work marked by a fascination with images and of a theoretical production in which he explores the connections between writing and visual arts, as evidenced for instance by his essay Cine y literatura. Nevertheless, a similarly intense fascination for the sound potential of language drives the poet, who does insist on “el golpeteo rítmico de ciertas palabras, anterior a la captación de su sentido lógico” (Gimferrer, 2002), from which his writings originate. From this perspective, this article aims to revalue the importance of Gimferrer’s living work on the sound material of his poetry, devoting particular attention to rhythm. To achieve this, we revisit the fundamental role of music in his volume De «extraña fruta» y otros poemas, which is marked, already in its title by a reference to jazz. |
