| Sažetak: | The National Amazonian Museum is a project that has been planned in Peru since at least the 1940s and has never been carried out, despite the fact that it was foreseen in the plans for the important celebration of the Bicentennial of Independence in 2021. This article presents a first mapping of several failed projects of the Amazonian Museum as other manifestations of the neglect the Amazonian region suffers in Peru. It also shows the tensions between regional and national stakeholders around this museum, generator of conflicting and incomplete “museotopies”. The non-existent Peruvian Amazonian Museum is also analyzed as an absence that reveals all the complexities of the colonialist or utilitarian discourse projected on the Amazon. |
