This double issue 18–19 of GLAD! is a Varia volume covering the journal’s activity in 2025. This year of organizational reflection was also a year in which we received a large number of submissions, even though relatively few research articles ultimately completed the editorial process and proceeded to publication. Publishing fewer research articles in a Varia issue enables the editorial team to devote more time to accompanying each contribution through the editorial process. This issue brings together essays in discourse analysis, narratology, philosophy, and terminological micro-diachronic study. The Explorations section is particularly substantial this year, with two interviews and a programmatic article. The issue also includes contributions to the Translation studies section—which addresses questions related to translating exploratory gender markers in Chinese, a language without morphological gender—as well as a column that examines the debates sparked by psycholinguistics around stylistic and political choices in gendered writing. The book reviews, along with the two summaries of a doctoral dissertation and a habilitation thesis that round out the volume, are closely aligned with the themes of the issue and with the editorial line of the journal. Since issue 16, once an article has been accepted for publication, the journal has systematically offered reviewers the possibility of lifting anonymity and to list those who consent in the header of the published article. This practice seeks to make their work more visible and to strengthen the spirit of cooperation essential to the collective construction of a scholarly journal. |
