| Izvleček: | Despite the high geodiversity within Baden-Württemberg a clear discrepancy exists concerning the protection of bio- and geopotential. This is similarly valid for the visibility of geomorphosites and their integration into tourism offers and environmental education. Until today, geomorphosites have received little attention in Germany, even within professional circles. This may be in part due to a lack of understanding for the necessity to protect “lifeless landscape formations” and in part due to the German school curriculum, which to date inadequately integrates geomorphological topics. The establishment of the Swabian Jura Geopark has significantly helped to improve the visibility of geomorphosites. Unfortunately, it is questionable, whether this geopark can be upheld after the designation of a biosphere reserve in the same region. |
