Initially used in the spatial sciences, we propose its conceptualisation and a reading grid adapted to the management sciences. This research is based on a research-intervention that took place within a professional rugby sports organisation (PROD7) over a period of eighteen months. The results of the research highlight the contributions of the transfer of the concept of trajectography. The latter makes it possible, on the one hand, to propose a global vision of the processes of deployment of management tools and, on the other hand, to apprehend the organisational issues peripheral to these management situations. Cet article propose de réconcilier deux approches traditionnellement employées pour étudier des outils de gestion (contenu et processus) par la mobilisation du concept de trajectographie. Initialement utilisée dans les sciences spatiales, nous proposons sa conceptualisation et une grille de lecture adaptées aux sciences de gestion. Cette recherche s’appuie sur une recherche-intervention qui s’est déroulée au sein d’une organisation sportive professionnelle de rugby (PROD7) sur une période de dix-huit mois. Les résultats de la recherche soulignent les apports du transfert du concept de trajectographie. Ce dernier permet d’une part de proposer une vision globale des processus de déploiement des outils de gestion et, d’autre part, d’appréhender les enjeux organisationnels périphériques à ces situations de gestion.
