| Streszczenie: | The authors address the issue of governance in health from a critical standpoint, taking globalization as the core focus. They discuss the issue of governance in health based on the trend of stimulating world production/consumption in accordance with the interests of developed countries. The Euro-American crises and the way multilateralism is implemented contribute to the perpetuation of the « status quo » and hamper changes in global governance in favor of social and health equity. They also stress the role of the financial, social, environmental, climatic, food, health and ethical sub-crises and development itself, the monitoring of which can generate recommendations on global governance for health. In the quest for governance geared to « equitable development » at the global level, a broad review of the role of the United Nations from an intersectoral approach is proposed. It specifically questions the WHO reform, which is currently under discussion, and draws attention to the need to promote more effective interaction between the State, the private sector, workers and organized civil society in general. Lastly, reflections are proposed that pinpoint strategies which, in the context of globalization, may produce relevant changes in social determinants to move towards broader equity in global health. |
