Non solo perché sono strumenti di manipolazione perversa, perché possono mentire a causa d’un uso maldestro o volontario, ma piuttosto perché deformano insidiosamente il nostro sguardo, ci impongono un’immagine del mondo e ci rinchiudono, quasi a nostra insaputa, in un’identità obbligata e idee preconcette. Il che non preclude l’umorismo ! With time and experience, the author has taken the measure of words, of which she says we must beware.
