Through a discussion of their autobiographical works, including Tomboy Survival Guide (2016), Rebent Sinner (2019), and Care of: Letters, Connections, and Cures (2021), this article analyzes three themes: the articulation between identity, body, and space; the use of fragmented, non-linear, and metaphorical lesbian narrative strategies (FARWELL 1996); and the development of a living trans-American queer archive that is part of a non-normative lesbian literary tradition, embodied by the gender-defiant concept of “transbutchness” (LYNN CAVAR 2020; MANION 2014). |
