Description
Résumé:This paper examines the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) program, emphasizing Poland’s role as a transit and support hub for Ukrainian refugees. It explores the program’s political, legal, and logistical dimensions, highlighting the collaboration between Canada and Poland in facilitating the movement and resettlement of displaced Ukrainians. Through a mixed-methods approach—incorporating literature review, surveys, and interviews—the study assesses Poland’s contributions, the challenges faced by both countries, and the broader implications of CUAET for global migration policies. The findings reveal that while CUAET provided critical humanitarian relief, administrative hurdles, economic barriers, and cultural factors influenced arrival rates and integration success in Canada. The paper underscores the need for clearer permanent residency pathways and harmonized migration policies to ensure sustainable refugee support.
