| Riassunto: | Abstract. This paper presents a theoretical and methodological approach to studying the economic landscape of Bronze Age Cyprus in an interdisciplinary and critical way. I propose a labourscape approach that centers labour as a synthetic category formed by action and affect. Enacted by human and non-human agents, action is temporalised by practice and situated spatially in the landscape of the northern Troodos foothills. The landscape here is defined as a dynamic process of co-constitutive relationships among the agents that dwell in it. This relational network of agentic interaction is assessed through a posthumanist lens on communities of practice, integrating human and non-human agencies into temporal and spatial contexts, defined through a location-specific taskscape approach, and the application of a social and environmental framework to seasonality. The integration of these elements into a labourscape facilitates assessing a broad range of archaeological and ethnographic evidence, critical to understanding the landscape of labour organisation as an intensely dynamic and inherently complex process of negotiating social space and power. |
