Περίληψη:This article analyses the structure and the transformations within the landscape of French SSH academic journals. It relies on a database listing more than 200 French journals classified by the academic research evaluation agency AÉRES (Agence d’évaluation de la recherche et de l’enseignement supérieur) at the beginning of 2010s within six fields: economics and management; sociology and demography; political science; anthropology; psychology; philosophy. First, this article highlights the high level of dispersion in the editorial landscape (characterized by a multiplicity of small and not-for-profits actors), its variation from one discipline to another (in a way that echoes the conflict of the faculties) and the concentration of the industry, monopolized by a few major publishers. Second, it focuses on issues to do with digitalization and institutional politics in favour of open access, which since the 2010s have had an impact on the forms of distribution of journals in a period marked by the emergence of platforms such as Cairn and OpenEdition. This article shows that these changes have occurred without breaking with traditional ways of publishing SSH and have not (yet) produced a genuine upheaval of journals ecosystem.
