Crynodeb:This article focuses on Israel-EU security and defense relations in the context of the “Arab Spring”. It displays the divergences and convergences over issues related to the “Arab Spring” such as the Israeli Palestinian conflict, the Hamas, Egypt's revolutionary events, the Syrian Civil war, Lebanon and Hezbollah and the Iranian nuclear project. It goes on to briefly highlight some main areas of defense and security cooperation which are more significant on the bilateral level between Israel and the EU member states than with the EU itself. The article emphasizes the shared strategic concerns of Israel and the EU as the major motivations behind the cooperation. It concludes with a message regarding the imperative of further political and strategic cooperation between Israel and the EU in view of a volatile and explosive geostrategic Middle East.
