| Sažetak: | At the same time that numerous avant-garde movements emerged in painting, symbolist literature is obsessed by the project of creating images through the only words. Poets do not all understand the « poetical image » in the same way, even if this idea may be seen as a topos at the turn of the century. The writers who defend a « renovation of the image », according to the Remy de Gourmont’s expression, tried to combine writing and vision in order to suggest by themselves new images within a strictly literary project. This paper will discuss this idea by focusing on the less known examples of Paul Fort, Gustave Kahn and Saint-Pol-Roux. |
