要約:The main aim of this paper is characteristics of one of the most important subjects of literature written in Polish in Israel – the subject of Poland as a country of origin or a homeland.Describing mental visions of Poland in this literature concerns three main areas: “sensual memory” (landscapes, smells, tastes, colours specific to the country of origin), reminiscences of the people of Poland (both Polish and Jewish), and the circle of issues, which can be generally described as Polish culture (traditions, history, values, ethos, myths, language, literature, music and arts). The three areas are in many ways connected, and they create personal, unique vision of the country of origin as an important factor of individual identity. Often it is an ambivalent image. For some of the writers emigration is seen as a kind of personal defeat, for others as a good decision leading to finding a proper place in life, but in most of the cases it is something that has both good and bad consequences.
