| الملخص: | The transition from the Late Bronze to the Early Iron Age in Cyprus was a period of profound transformations. This paper presents five newly excavated Early Iron Age tomb-groups from Larnaka (ancient Kition), offering fresh insights into the largely underexplored funerary landscape of Kition in this period. By analysing burial topography, material culture, and pottery production, the study situates these assemblages within their regional and interregional contexts. Particular attention is given to aspects of Kitian pottery production and Kition’s external interactions. The site appears to have maintained intensive exchanges with other regions of the island, such as Salamis, Paphos, and Amathous, but also with Levantine sites. Finally, this paper contributes new data to ongoing research on Kition’s social and political trajectory, shedding light on its role in the evolving and dynamic landscape of the Early Iron Age Eastern Mediterranean. |
