| Crynodeb: | Research carried out by the Balai Arkeologi Medan (Medan Archaeological Research Office) between 2008 and 2016 at Kota Cina yielded interesting results regarding brick remains. Excavations undertaken in the Keramat Pahlawan area, near the Chinese prayer room, revealed different construction phases. Following the uncovering in 2013 of several practically parallel wall sections in the KC8-KC9 area through excavations and a survey, additional excavation carried out in 2016 confirmed the presence of four sections of brick walls. The configuration of these remains is reminiscent of the configuration of ancient Hindu-Buddhist buildings (candis) in West Sumatra, whether in Rao, Tanjung Medan, Pulau Sawah, Awang Maombiak or Padang Roco. |
