| Gaia: | The subsection “Worked wood” deals with a corpus of 89 pieces, including mostly wedging stakes, stakes, wedges, sticks, dowelled planks, dowels, and probably boat timbers. Besides, most of the 80 fragments of braided cords, made of sugar palm fibres, are characterised by a variable number (one to eleven) of braided strands, each strand being composed of a number of fibres. These fragments display various types of knots. An other corpus of 24 remains brings together intact or fragmentary fruits (mostly two types of nutshells) and seeds, as well as some pieces of barks, while the corpus of worked human and faunal remains consists of sixteen finds including three filed human teeth and artefacts made of various materials (tooth, ivory, shell, bone, antler, ray stinger). |
