| Streszczenie: | This article offers a set of contrastive analyses of media discourses involving the notion and lexeme “ crisis” in French, Estonian, and American print journalism. This study, which is part of a broader project on the discursive representations of crises, mobilizes several digital tools (Hyperbase, Sketch Engine, Lexicoscope) and crosses various corpora centered on the Covid-19 pandemic, then expanded to a diachronic perspective. Three main lines of inquiry are developed: the analysis of lexical co-occurrences of terms linked to the notion of crisis on a thematic level (“researcher”, “remote work”) to describe the figures of knowledge and obligation; the study of syntactic structures containing modal verbs, in order to identify the salient actants and their modalities of action; and finally, the examination of the lexical environment of the word “crisis” (crise), to evaluate the semantic evolution of its uses in post-crisis contexts (2010 and 2024). |
