| Summary: | What role should research play in eftss, and how? This is the question I propose to address in this contribution, drawing on my professional experience, which leads me to defend: a bottom-up approach to developing integrated research in social worker training; distinguishing between research mechanisms that are closer to the concerns of learners and those that are closer to the concerns of trainers and educational managers; distinguishing between collaborative research-training mechanisms and collaborative research-action mechanisms; considering research training as a lifelong learning process; taking care to prevent rather than manage certain risks that the integration of research into eftss may entail; finally, making collaborative research the common foundation of partnership work between eftss and universities/research laboratories. |
