| সংক্ষিপ্ত: | This article sheds light on the moral agentivity of animals based on animal work. Using a comparative ethnography of patrol dog training and guide dog training, it shows how animals invest themselves in the exercise of violence and benevolence respectively, with particular attention to the role of the kennel. In the training of police dogs, the kennel is an instrument of isolation and domination that locks the animals in aggression to make them instruments of law enforcement. It is characterized by the animals’ suffering at work, marked by a pathologization of their relationship to aggressiveness, thus showing that violence is not self-evident. Conversely, in the education of guide dogs, the kennel is an open space contributing to the intelligence and attachment of animals to become care workers. |
