| Shrnutí: | This article offers an analysis of the activity of a racehorse named « The Revenant » that we followed in training at the Blondeau School in 2017 as part of the ChevalEduc program. We look at his training path and then his professional path. Drawing on the theoretical frameworks of the sociology of human-animal working relationships, psychodynamics of work, and the life course method we trace the professional path of this horse, the conditions of his entry into the workplace, his relationships with professionals, and the work of trainers with him. Our objective is to bring to light the stakes involved in the relationship between racehorses and their work, i.e. the consequences of the success or failure of a horse’s career on its mental and physical health and on its future in relation to the general organization of racing. |
