Résumé:Chapter four of The Violence of Interpretation by Piera Aulagnier focuses on the conditions leading to emergence of the “I” (Je). It emphasizes the risk of the child’s experience being interpreted solely through the mother’s discourse and of a shadow being cast upon the child’s psyche, creating a micro-environment that excludes any form of separation. This situation can potentially lead to psychosis, due to the absence of a temporal dimension beyond the immobility resulting from the violence of the maternal interpretation.
