סיכום:This contribution aims to analyze a complex discourse marker made up of two spatio-temporal deictic adverbs: or and ça. These adverbs have also developed separately enunciative values through pragmaticalization: or indicates an enunciative break, while ça takes on an incitative value. Our investigation was carried out on a textual corpus made up of plays and dialogues from novels or short stories, over a chronological span ranging from the 12th to the 16th century. After an overview of the different uses of or and ça, we sought to demonstrate that the complex marker combines the discursive properties of or and ça and reinforces the illocutionary value of the statement it introduces. By comparing the two textual genres, we were able to highlight the similarities, as well as the particularities, that this marker develops in theater, in relation to performance.
